​Landlords and Property Managers are well known for being difficult when releasing rental bonds and most of the time it's to do with the properties' cleanliness.  Read the Top Three Mistakes tenants make when it comes to the bond clean at the end of their lease...

1.  Leaving it to the last minute.
Leaving the final clean to the last minute will almost guarantee a complaint from the property manager as you are sure to miss certain areas or jobs.  Cleaning always takes longer than you expect, especially for large jobs such as oven cleaning, shower screen scum removal and a good yard tidy up.  With so many jobs to finish before you move properties, hiring a professional bond cleaner is the most stress-free and successful way to get your full bond back from the landlord.

 

​2.  Not cleaning and tidying up outdoor areas.
Your yard, garage, veranda, pool, courtyard or balcony needs to be clean and tidy if you want to get your bond back.  This would also include a final mow and weed removal if you have a garden or grassed area.  Particular landlords may even expect edges to be trimmed, leaves removed, the pool cleaned, stains on driveways removed or the bins to be washed out. ​

By removing all furniture and household items before cleaning, it makes the job easier for either you or a professional cleaner to get the job done properly and with less cost.  Wiping out kitchen or bathroom cupboards can't be done easily or well if not empty.  The moving process is a huge amount of work and though you may be tempted to book the cleaner on moving day, it is a much safer option to wait until the following day.
